Hi ,
We are planning to move to San Diego over the summer to the 4s Ranch/ Rancho Bernardo area and starting to look homes coming under the Poway School District.
I would like to e-meet and make some new friends in these areas and also discuss very briefly about elementary schools. I am very interested to know about the Chapparal Elementary School , Monterey Ridge, Stone lake elementary school and Preschools/Montessori schools in the area.
Also interested to know anyone who teaches carnatic music classes here.
Looking forward to hear and make new friends.
Thanks
Usha

Hi,
I may not be able to contribute much, but wanted to weigh in and also learn from what other community members have to say,
we are currently renting in The reserve apartments in 4s ranch. We moved to san diego in March 2015. The 4 s ranch is very nice and has great schools & very good neighborhood. But, we are currently looking for homes and are contemplating Rancho Bernardo, because there is no Mello Roos. 4 s ranch has newer homes, but mello roos is in the $4000-7000+ a year . This is in addition to property tax and HOA. we are unable to see real benefits from mello roos. Del sur has mello roos but at least has a few community pools and parks.
But we are worried about spending that money every year. and what is the guarantee we will make money when we sell the house. We would rather put that in the stock market or savings for the kids.
The Rancho bernardo schools are a 9 compared to the 10 in 4s.
So question to the others here -
what are the advantages of 4s to Rancho Bernardo other than 10 schools and newer homes?
Usha hope this helps you as well.
