About
I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (MFC 46855). As a graduate of Bethel Seminary, San Diego, specializing in Individual, Couple and Family Therapy, I am currently serving as private practitioner working with a broad spectrum of clients maintaining my practice in El Cajon, CA. I was born in India and immigrated to the USA in 1985.

Among my areas of expertise are issues related to depression, anxiety, phobia, panic disorder, obsessive compulsive disorder, post traumatic stress disorder, eating disorders, domestic violence, anger management, substance abuse and relationship issues. Above all, the areas in which I specialize and am passionate about are working with oppositional children and high-risk adolescents and in improving communication and enhancing intimacy within couples.

My Approach:
I work systemically with individuals, couples and families using advanced cutting edge techniques which are very effective in generating powerful, observable and sustainable positive changes in problems that are difficult to treat. These techniques, pioneered in Italy are new in the USA, and are superseding the traditional methods commonly used by most therapists. With a strong foundation in Christian principles, I integrate my spiritual beliefs and faith with this advanced technology which helps me to instill hope and bring healing. With compassion and understanding, I work with each individual to help them build on their strengths and attain the personal growth they are committed to accomplishing. Having my heritage in India and being an immigrant to the USA for several years, I am sensitive to both the Indian and American cultural values and norms and use the knowledge in my practice..

Education:
I received my Master of Arts degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Bethel Seminary, San Diego. I also have Master of Arts degrees in Theology from Bethany Theological Seminary, Oakbrook, IL and in Psychology from University of Allahabad, India. In addition I am a trained Chaplain from Florida Hospital, Orlando, FL.

Training:
I received my training as a therapist from the Behavioral Health Clinic, San Diego Youth and Community Services, El Cajon; from LifeSpring Center, San Diego and from Family Therapy Institute, El Cajon.

Specialized Training:
I have received ongoing specialized training in Brief-Strategic Therapy (since 2004) for a broad spectrum of disorders from Prof. Giorgio Nardone, Arezzo, Italy and his staff.
I have received intensive training in Strategic Therapy (2003-2004) from the Mental Research Institute, Palo Alto, CA; Brief Therapy: Working with Troubled Youth from the Mental Research Institute, Palo Alto, CA; Family Strategic Therapy Training (2003-2004) from Cloe Madanes� Clinic, La Jolla, CA.
Other training which I received during my residency as Chaplain Intern at Florida Hospital, Orlando, FL (1996-1997) were Conflict Resolution and Confrontation Skills, Addictions versus Spirituality and Crises Intervention.
